HORIBA
Jobin Yvon supplies the most extensive offerings of fluorescence instrumentation,
including steady state measurements, and is the ONLY supplier of both time
and phase domain lifetime spectrofluorometers. No matter what your fluorescence
application, the diverse set of base instruments, accessories, and alternatives,
will allow you to achieve the best fluorometer possible, a fluorometer
that will do your work easily, reproducibly, and accurately.
Drawing on the traditions that made SPEX, IBH, and SLM the dominant names in the fluorescence research fields, HORIBA Jobin Yvon produces the spectrofluorometers that can go to work right out of the box (FluoroMax), or be custom tailored to fit any fluorescence sensitivity requirements, wavelength region, time discrimination, sample parameters, or special accessories you might encounter in your fluorescence research (Fluorolog). Or, if you need to build your own luminescence systems, we'll guide you on your way.
Macrosampling or microscopy and mapping, you'll find the fluorescence system you need in the pages to follow.

Steady-State Fluorescence
FluoroMax®-4
The new FluoroMax®-4 is a compact spectrofluorometer from SPEX®, yet it offers the ultimate sensitivity in fluorescence investigations as well as features not found in most table-top fluorescence detection systems. The FluoroMax®-4 now has 33% higher sensitivity and 20% better signal-to-noise ratio than the FluoroMax®-3! Also available are the new FluoroMax-4P® for phosphorescence measurements and TCSPC upgrades for fluorescence lifetimes.
FluoroLog®-3
The FluoroLog®-3 spectrofluorometer is the ultimate in modular research fluorescence system. With sensitivity and flexibility unequaled, it will perform analyses over the ultraviolet and visible regions of the fluorescence spectrum as well as far into the IR.
MF2 - A NEW Standard in Fluorescence Lifetime Studies:

- Record kinetics inaccessible by other lifetime techniques
- 1,000 times faster than existing technology
- Full characterization in a millisecond
- Any series of fluorescence dynamic events between 20 ps and 10 ms can be tracked in every experiment
Fluorescence Lifetime - Time Domain
TCSPC
on the FluoroLog®-3
TCSPC on the FluoroLog®-3 With Time Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC) accessories, the FluoroLog®-3 is also a complete, stand-alone steady-state and lifetime spectrofluorometer using the outstanding sensitivity of photon counting in the time domain.
FluoroCube Range
The FluoroCube combines the latest miniaturised light source and detector technology with a large 25cm sample chamber borrowed from the award winning 5000-Series systems.
Nanotechnology
NanoLogT
The NanoLogT series of spectrofluorometers specifically targets research in nanotechnology and the frontiers of nanomaterials. Based on the world-wide proven technology of the FluoroLog®, the NanoLogT detects fluorescence in the near-IR from 800 to 1700 nm (optional multi-channel detection to 2 um, single-channel detection to 3 um), with visible and UV options also possible. With the NanoLogT comes specially designed software ideal for classifying SWNTs (single wall nanotubes), performing energy-transfer calculations (FRET), and saving custom routines and instrument layouts. A complete spectrum can be scanned as fast as a few milliseconds, and a full excitation-emission matrix scan can be taken in as little as seconds.
Microscopy & Mapping
FluoroMap
In the fields of cell biology, biophysics, and materials science, important events occur on the microscale both in space and time. The SPEX® FluoroMap features high sensitivity, confocal microscopy with spatial resolution down to 1 µm, wide spectral response from the UV to near-IR, and time resolution down to the picosecond range, all in one modular instrument.
TCSPC
Microscope
Time-resolved microscopy is the ultimate tool for investigating dynamic events in cells and subcellular structures. Its applications previously have been limited at wavelengths longer than 370 nm because microscope optics do not transmit in the deep UV. HORIBA Jobin Yvon, the leader in fluorescence spectroscopy, introduces a filter-based confocal system (the DynaMicT) to measure fluorescence lifetime and intensity directly under the microscope in the deep UV and visible (240-850 nm)
Process Monitoring
UrAssay
A turn-key uranium assay system with 0.1ppb sensitivity using time-domain fluorescence.

Why HORIBA Jobin Yvon? The SPEX® and IBH tradition of high-performance fluorescence instrumentation is carried on by HORIBA Jobin Yvon, which also keeps the name of SLM-Aminco® alive. SPEX® spectrofluorometers offer full automation, making experiments easy and reducing the chance of operator error. There are cheaper fluorescence instruments but none with the same sensitivity, range, speed and accuracy. From flashlamps to laser diodes, UV to NIR, picosecond light sources to seconds, modules to turn-key systems, HORIBA Jobin Yvon offers the widest range of products to the fluorescence lifetime community. |
Confused by Water Raman Signal/Noise specifications? The Water Raman Test is a convenient
way to compare spectrofluorometers but does everyone measure
it the same way? |
Fluorescence Lifetime Measurements HORIBA Jobin Yvon is the only manufacturer that
can offer both Time-Domain and Frequency-Domain
fluorescence lifetime systems. |
Accessories The SPEX® fluorescence range includes a comprehensive list of Accessories to meet all of your measurement requirements. Whether you're doing FRET, TRES, Anisotropy, Quenching, Kinetics or Spectral Mapping, powerful FluorEssenceT or DataMax software is available for your application. |
Application and Technical Notes For information on measurement capabilities or technical information on the SPEX® range of spectrofluorometers, a number of Application Notes are available. |
Building Your Own TCSPC System? HORIBA Jobin Yvon can provide components to
enhance a current system, or create a custom time-domain spectrofluorometer.
