A
remote sensing fluorescence lifetime system
for studying surfaces
Applications include:
- Skin Monitoring
- Cosmetics research
- Medical screening
- NDE on materials
- Paints
- Catalysts
- Ceramics
- Semiconductors
- Industrial QA
Fluorescence lifetime and time-resolved measurements are widely recognised as constituting the new spectroscopy of the 21st century. So far applications have been limited to cuvette based measurements on solutions and colloids, but Jobin Yvon IBH has now broken the traditional boundaries and is the first company to have introduced in the LifeSurf the capability for performing fluorescence lifetime measurements on any surface. A key application concerns the in-vivo monitoring of skin for medical, healthcare, sun-screening and cosmetics research.
Example data: Skin fluorescence
Sample:
Skin (human arm)
Excitation source: NanoLED
pulsed diode
Detector: TBX-04
SPC module
Software: FMAS
Note: Full reconvolution analysis of the data can be performed over all the data including the rising edge, offering a rigorous test of the kinetics.
