The mapped area (700x208 µm2, 300 spectra, magnification x100, 632 nm) of a textured PMN-PT piezoceramic for advanced SONAR at the beginning of the thermal treatment process shows the epitaxial growing around the crystal seeds. Composition value is obtained from the position of the center of gravity of the 800 cm-1 Nb-O stretching component. Note, due to the large lead content, no other method could easily give a view of such composition variation.
