Real-time Monitoring of Polymerizations in Emulsions by Raman Spectroscopy - Modeling and Chemometrics |
The copolymerization in emulsion of vinyldichloride with methylmetacrylate is monitored by Raman spectroscopy following the disappearance of the C=C bond of the vinyldichloride monomer. Using the modeling option gives access to the concentration of both monomers and polymer throughout the reaction. Such information ultimately enables the process engineer to optimize his procedure. |
